Marin City is a food desert: there is no grocery store in our community\, and the closest supermarkets are costly Mollie Stone in Sausalito or Good Earth in Mill Valley. Largely because of poor access to healthy food\, 75% of Marin City residents are overweight and at an increased risk for developing heart disease. Marin City is a food desert: there is no grocery store in our community\, and the closest supermarkets are costly Mollie Stone in Sausalito or Good Earth in Mill Valley. Largely because of poor access to healthy food\, 75% of Marin City residents are overweight and at an increased risk for developing heart disease.
