In 1960 Dr. Arthur Coleman purchased the lot at Third and Ingerson, and built a center for Black health equity. For the first time, residents of Bayview Hunters Point had integrated medical services at one site, where a variety of African American practitioners took care of all their health needs.
In 2018 the San Francisco Board of Supervisors designated the Arthur Coleman Medical Center, home of our Bayview Hunters Point Clinic, a Cultural Landmark. Come celebrate!
