Men’s health is a critical aspect of public health, yet it often remains underemphasized, particularly in underserved communities. Systemic barriers to healthcare access, cultural stigmas, and socio-economic challenges contribute to significant health disparities.

The SFCCC (San Francisco Community Clinic Consortium) is a regional partnership of 12 community health centers in the Bay Area, and a perfect example of the idiom “strength in numbers.”

Is there a connection between Juneteenth and healthcare equity? Yes. As Juneteenth celebrates freedom and resilience, it recognizes the ongoing fight for equality and justice.

Here are some highlights of our mobile screening mammogram event that took place at our Drake Avenue clinic in Marin City on June 4. It was a great turn out, with fun and prizes, and we hope to do it again soon!

June marks Pride Month, a time to celebrate the diversity of the LGBTQ+ community and honor the ongoing struggle for equality and acceptance. While strides have been made in securing rights and visibility, there is one area that is still in need of critical attention.

May is a plethora of recognition campaigns: Mental Health Awareness Month; Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month; Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day (May 9); and National Prevention Week (May 12-18).
