Our Approach

MCHWC is dedicated to offering evidence-based treatment options that will always prioritize patient safety, efficacy, and accessibility.
Our primary modality of treatment care is medication-assisted treatment (MAT). MAT involves the use of FDA-approved medications, such as buprenorphine/naloxone (Suboxone), extended-release naltrexone (Vivitrol), in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies. These medications help alleviate cravings and withdrawal symptoms while promoting long term recovery and reducing relapse and detrimental overdose death.

In addition to treating patients with MAT, our clinic also emphasizes the importance of providing comprehensive psychosocial support
to individuals with OUD. This includes counseling, group therapy, support groups, and case management services.
These modalities aim to address those underlying psychosocial and social factors that contribute to substance use and trauma,
we instill healing and recovery to impact those factors. We prioritize the integration of peer support deeply into our systems approach, and lastly, we recognize the importance of addressing co-occurring mental health conditions while providing access to additional services, such as primary and mental health care, and dental services. It is the clinic’s firm belief that offering a comprehensive and patient centered approach to wellness is the need for success.

Our Impact

Here are a couple examples that showcase how our recovery services have benefited people in the community.

Damian’s Story

“The intake process for the MAT program included thoughtful screening. The MAT support group gives me a place to come and talk about all the things I’m experiencing in a safe environment.”
